UNBOXING THEATRE was founded in 2024 by Japanese multi-disciplinary creatives Yuya Sato, Ami Nagano, and Hana Tamaru with the debut production NET CAFE REFUGEE.

The company blends dance, movement, and theatrical storytelling to create performances that resonate both physically and emotionally. Rooted in an Asian perspective—particularly from Japan—we spotlight underrepresented voices and foster collaborations with artists worldwide. Our mission is to unbox new narratives and expand the boundaries of contemporary theatre.
